Warnock sacked by QPR

I'll be doing an A-League match report soon, but until we find someone else to write for the English Premier League, I'm doing that too. Fun. :)

So yeah, Warnock has been sacked - hands up who saw this one coming? *hands up*. After 8 premier league games without a win, and with Rangers only snatching a draw at the death with MK Dons in the FA Cup, owner Tony Fernandes has apparently decided he's had enough.

QPR currently find themselves 17th in the Premier League, 1 point from 18th placed Bolton and only 3 points from basement club Blackburn. Their recent run of poor form has seen them lose twice to Norwich, draw with West Brom and has also contained losses to Arsenal, Sunderland, Man Utd and Liverpool.

You see, normally this wouldnt be so bad, but with the amount of money that has been poured into the club since Malaysian businessman Fernandes took over in August, with such signings as Gabbidon, Traore, Wright-Phillips and self-proclaimed Messiah and Ruler of Men, Joey Barton.

It's a shame to see him go, he picked up QPR when they were 20th in the Championship and within 14 months he steered them back to the Premier League for the first time in 15 years. If he had another transfer window, I think he could have brought in the talent that would have easily kept Rangers up.

Looking forward though, Mark Hughes has apparently said he'd like the job, and he would seem like a good choice - I personally hope he does get it, and I can't really think of anyone else who would make a better fit. Presumably the new coach will be announced before their next match against Newcastle on sunday.
